Iran’s proposed budget would beef up military

.The Iranian government's proposed budget for the new year includes significant funding hikes for the army and the Revolutionary Guards.

Mohabat News -  The Mehr News Agency reports that the budget for the army is increasing by 50 percent and the IRGC budget is growing by 30 percent. The budget also suggests a budget increase of 90 trillion rials for the country's security forces.

The report indicates the proposed budget contains significant spending increases for other government bodies such as the Expediency Council, Parliament, the Guardian Council, the ministry of intelligence and the foreign ministry; however, the army and the IRGC would see the largest increases, should Parliament approve the proposed budget.
