A sinkhole claims two homes near Tampa, Florida. The hole is about 100 feet wide and 50 feet deep. One family got out of their house just in time.

The sinkhole was only about 12 feet wide when firefighters first arrived on the scene. It eventually grew big enough to swallow up a boat and the back porch of a house and then a bedroom and the pool of the house next door.

Michael Dupre says his frightened daughter woke him up shortly before 6 a.m. on Thursday. At first they thought someone was breaking in, but it wasn’t a burglar it was parts of his home collapsing into a massive crater, “and as I approach the back of the house, I see our screen room just sticking out 3 feet off the ground, so I knew instantly, ok, something opened up.”  TrueNews
