TWC: April 2011 tornado update from Dr. Forbes** We now know how many tornadoes actually struck the United States during April 2011. NWS has now processed the April Storm Data and have indicated that there were 753 actual tornadoes. April 2011 shattered all previous monthly tornado records. It wasn’t just the number of tornadoes, but four of them were rated EF5 and tornadoes caused 361 fatalities during the month.
