Another sinkhole on North Fourth Street in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - A new sinkhole in Harrisburg is particularly concerning to residents because of its proximity to the now infamous sinkhole on North Fourth Street.

A metal plate on the 2000 block of North Fourth Street covers the new sinkhole. Cars can still travel over it.

Before the plate was put into place, the sinkhole appeared to be about three feet deep.

"It's scary," resident Loryne Williams said.

No parking signs currently line the street.

City Council Public Works Chair Sandra Reid said the city has the situation under control.

"It's another one of those little nuisance problems everyday working in the city of Harrisburg," Reid said.

This apparent sinkhole is just a block away from the massive sinkhole that caused so many problems months ago. There's no word yet if the two are connected.  Cumberlink
